Stanners joined the club 30 years ago in 1988 after playing junior and mens cricket for a works team in Aylesbury. The senior pro in our bowling line-up, Stanners is always a threat with the new ball and is also very economical. His value to the team can be underlined with the statistic that he has take 20+ League wickets in nine of the last ten seasons.
As well as playing for Tring, Stanners was a brilliant servant for Buckinghamshire. He made his minor counties debut in 1989 for playing 132 championship games taking 294 wickets.
He was awarded his county cap by Bucks in 1995 and played in three division winning sides and a championship winning team in 2009.
Highlights included playing in 12 list A games for Buckinghamshire playing against players of the class of Stuart Law, Nasser Hussain, James Anderson and Andrew Flintoff.
