The ECB has updated the regulations covering the return to cricket activities. In brief:
Small group cricket activity, in groups of no more than six is permitted, keeping two metres apart at all times unless from the same household
Cricket coaches can now undertake small group sessions of up to six people including the coach (1:5) and they must comply with ECB safeguarding policies (as well as being able to conduct one-to-one coaching).
The club must ensure we comply with the requirements set out by the ECB, especially that of social distancing. When there are larger groups using the nets, there will be a member of the management team at the ground to ensure the regulations are complied with.
As of Sunday 7th June 2020, members can book a net session for groups of up to six, all of whom will need to be current members. Bookings will continue to run from 10am through to the last booking at 3pm. From 4pm onwards, the nets will be available for junior and senior club coaching, more details will be published shortly.
In relation to the use of the grass net, this has to be booked in the same way as the artificial nets and is only available to 1st and 2nd team players. We have to limit availability as Doyley has to spend time preparing the strip. It will only be available during the day when Doyley is at the club as the pitch has been damaged when he was not there, causing him extra work.
