Junior matches

Juniors in year 4 and above can play matches in the Herts Junior League. 16 teams have been entered this season from the U9s age group all the way up to the U17s. Please note, Juniors are only eligible to play in these matches once membership has been paid for the season.

As always, I would like to say a huge thank you to the managers of these teams who give up their time to give the juniors the opportunity to enjoy cricket and play matches.

Girls cricket

Girls cricket at TPCC is flourishing and we have entered 4 teams into the Herts Girls league this season, covering the U11, U13 and U15 age groups. It is also great to see the girls playing in the mixed junior teams. Our 'girls only' training sessions are on a Tuesday night for those in school year 4 and above are well attended. Girls can also attend the training sessions of their respective school year.

Membership renewals

2024 membership is now available to purchase. Please could I ask that you check all details are correct and filled-in in full for each junior member. This is incredibly important so please ensure all information is as up-to-date as possible.

Early bird membership is now available and is £95.00 for the first child and £85.00 for siblings. This will increase to £110.00 (£100.00 for siblings) from 1st May 2024 when the early bird window has expired.

We are also offering the opportunity to split the cost of membership over 4 months. This will be welcomed news for many parents, but I ask that you do support the club in any other way that you can, be it purchasing drinks from the bar and/or attending social events.

Don't forget you can also purchase social membership for £15.00 at the same time as you purchase your child’s junior membership. Purchase the Junior Member & Parent Social 2024 membership product together for £110.00 (early bird) and £125.00 thereafter. Details of what social membership entitles you to can be found on the website and in the Pitchero app.

It is vitally important that membership is paid promptly this season. Junior numbers are high, with Friday nights being especially busy. To ensure your child gets a place at training, membership must be paid.

Friday nights

Whilst the behaviour of the vast majority of children on Friday nights last year was great, we had some incidents where children were not properly supervised by parents when they were not training. When children are not training they are the responsibility of parents. As you can imagine, some of this behaviour is not only very dangerous, but could cause damage to the grounds and facilities. I urge parents to keep an eye on their children whilst attending the club to avoid any such accidents occurring. I thank you in advance for your help with this matter.

Holiday Camps

Our junior head coach, Chris Curry, will yet again be running cricket camps during Easter, Half Term and Summer holidays. The Easter camp will run from 12th-13th April 2024 (10am-3pm). More details will be sent out via Pitchero and Six4Six mailing lists in the next few days.

1-2-1 and Small Group Coaching

Chris also offers 1-2-1 or small group coaching to players U8 and above throughout the season. There will be some availability in late March/early April before the season starts.

If you would like some more information about the 1-2-1 coaching or holiday camps please don't hesitate to contact Chris directly at chris@six4six.co.uk

Social events at TPCC

Greg Burns has been busy organising lots of social events at the cricket club for the year ahead. From family bingo nights to band nights and plenty of social cricket, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
For more information, please contact Greg at social@tringcricket.co.uk or visit the website directly https://www.tringcricket.co.uk/a/social-calendar-2024-67177.html

Sponsorship

As a club we are always looking for ways to improve the facilities and the environment of the club for all age groups, from U5’s right up to the senior teams. One source of income for the club is via sponsorship. Packages start from as little as £300.00 per year and as well as vital funding, a partnership with the club will provide exposure to the wider TPCC members and community via boundary board branding, club communications as well as access to all the major events hosted by the club, such as the Lord’s Tavener’s cricket festival and the Clubs Annual Dinner Dance.

As a parent of a junior member maybe you have a business who would like to be part of a thriving and growing community cricket club, or you work for an organisation who is happy to provide funding for local community projects? If you are interested or know someone who may be then please contact us at chairman@tringcricket.co.uk.

Volunteers

The club cannot function with its volunteers and there are currently a number of vacant roles within the committee that need filling (Treasurer, Website Manager to name but a few). If there any parents or guardians out there who feel that they would be in a position to help out and contribute to the running of the club, please feel free to reach out to our Chairman Andy Grout at chairman@tringcricket.co.uk who will be more than happy to provide further info on this.
