We have been advised that certain members are not getting emails from the club and following an investigation by Pitchero, our website provider, we think we have found the cause of the problem.
Pitchero recently did an upgrade to Safeguarding measures relating to contacting Juniors. The result of this is that members that do not have a DOB on their profiles/accounts, will not be included in club communications.
The safeguarding measures take into account a member's DOB in order to ensure that members under a certain age aren't contacted, even if they have an email address listed. So if there is no DOB, the system will default to not sending the communication to that member.
This is a very important and needed safety measure, but unfortunately the effects for adult members without a DOB was not predicted. When an account is created on Pitchero, a member is required to enter this information in order to register, as we have a minimum age. Unfortunately, if a parent uses their own DOB to create an account in a child's name, it overrides this. Furthermore, when a club adds a member to their database, then invites the member to register, this information is not always added, so it slips through the net and results in adult members with no DOB.
To ensure you do get emails from the club please log in and update your information with your Date of Birth.
If using the app, log in - Click "My Account" then "my info", you will then see DOB.
If on the website, click on "your account", then "membership info"
I am going to see if there is a way for me to filter everyone who hasn't put in their details and prompt them to update but I am not sure this will work until the DOB is added.
