The club are extremely sad to report that club stalwart John Knox has passed away.
John was rightly proud of the fact that he had played for Tring Park in six different decades, something very few could match. He captained the 1988 3rd XI to the Thames Valley League title, our first silverware from the league, helped by his free hitting style. Latterly he became an umpire, officiating for our 3rd Xi in the Thames Valley League and becoming our representative on the league umpiring panel.
John always had a story to tell in his own inimitable manner, regaling many at the bar with his tales. His passing will leave a massive void in the club and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.
The funeral will take place at Weston Turville Church on Friday 5th January at 2pm followed by a wake at Chiltern Forest Golf Club.
